95 Anniversary

The Rotary Club of Pensacola, the “Downtown Club,” celebrated its 95th anniversary on March 9, 2010, as well as the 105th anniversary of Rotary International.
The Rotary Club of Pensacola was chartered as of March 9, 1915. There were 54 charter members from a wide variety of businesses and professions. The first meeting was convened for the charter presentation in the San Carlos Hotel. Today, the Rotary Club of Pensacola has 246 members.
At today’s meeting, Pensacola Mayor Mike Wiggins presented a proclamation recognizing the Club’s anniversary. A motion to adopt a similar proclamation will be presented to the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners at their March 18th meeting.
